Printed Wrap Dress | Butterick 6128

If you’ve seen some of my other posts, you know that I’m a huge fan of wrap dresses. The pleated wrap dress I made before, Butterick 6154, is a pretty simple style wrap dress that works best with knit fabrics. I wanted to try a more tailored wrap dress, with a collar and sleeves, so I tried out Butterick 6128.

My two favorite things about this dress are the fabric and the sleeves. I saw this Nicole Miller twill at JoAnn Fabrics and knew it would be perfect for this dress! The sleeves are my second favorite part – perfect fit and perfect length,  plus I love the cuffs.

Least favorite – I didn’t get the fit “just right.” I tried to make it petite, but ended up shortening the bodice too much, which made the skirt hit higher and causes bunching on my belly. For this attempt, I attached a lining but didn’t like that way that laid, so I took it out. That helped but is still slightly off.

I’m going to give this pattern another chance to see if I don’t like it because of the mistakes I made or the pattern itself. Does anyone have any other favorite wrap dress patterns they would recommend??
